Minimum Unit Pricing in Scotland

On the 1st of May 2018 the Scottish Government introduced minimum unit pricing (MUP) to all products across Beers, Wines & Spirits (BWS).

The Government will apply a price per alcohol unit. Research by the University of Sheffield estimates that MUP will help alcohol related deaths fall by about 120 per year and that hospital admissions will also reduce by about 2,000 a year.

As a result of this we'll need to review ‘alcohol by volume’ (ABV) for each of our beers, wines and spirits and increase prices to be compliant with the law. If a product is already over the MUP threshold the price won’t increase.
