What is the Nectar scheme, how does it work when I'm shopping Online and where can I collect and spend points?

You can collect and spend Nectar points online, as well as in stores, as long as your Nectar card has been registered with Nectar and is linked to your Sainsbury’s Groceries Online account. Click here to join and register with Nectar and we'll post a Nectar card to you within 14 days. Alternatively, visit one of our stores and pick up a registration pack. 

It's easy to check if your Nectar card is linked to your Sainsbury's Groceries Online account. Simple log into your Sainsbury's account, click on "My account" on the top right and you'll be taken to your Account details where your Nectar card info will be under the Nectar Card tab. All your coupons will also appear in your 'Wallet', ready for you to use. 

To convert your points into a coupon to use on your online shop, simply click on Manage my coupons during Checkout and enter the mount you'd like to convert. Additional coupons can also be added here if you have the code. 

For every order, there is a minimum of £25 spend and you’ll be able to spend to a maximum of £247.50 of Nectar evouchers on any one order, as long as each evoucher used is of a different value. Every 500 points is worth £2.50.

Nectar evouchers cannot be used to cover the Delivery Charge or carrier bag charge attached to the order.

Your order must be delivered on or before the expiry date of the voucher.

How do I link my Nectar card to my Sainsbury's Online account?

It’s really simple! Click here to find out more about collecting and spending Nectar points. You’ll be able to see if your Nectar card has been linked and if not, click on "add Nectar card" to proceed. You’ll need to log into your Sainsbury’s Online account first.


Can I collect and spend Nectar points online?

Spend
You can redeem Nectar points at the checkout stage. 

If you have received a voucher printed with an online evoucher code at the till whilst instore, this can be redeemed against your online order. This code will be clearly visible on the coupon along with text stating it can be used online.


Can I collect and spend Nectar points in other places?

You are unable to spend points on LloydsPharmacy products, any items that are bought at the tobacco kiosk, or in any Sainsbury’s Local in partnership with Euro Garages.

How do I convert my Nectar points into a Sainsbury's evoucher?

Firstly, you must link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury's online account, even if you are already setup to collect points in store. When you're placing an order on the Sainsbury's website, you'll need to follow the process through to the checkout stage where there'll be a section on the page called 'Coupons and Nectar points! Click on the link 'Manage my coupons' and convert your Nectar points.


Is there a basket spend I must reach before using Sainsbury's created Nectar evoucher?

No, however, there is the standard minimum basket spend that will have to be met on every groceries online order of £25. You will be able to spend to a maximum of £247.50 of Nectar evouchers on any one order.


What is the maximum value of evouchers I can use on a Sainsbury's order?

You will be able to spend a maximum value of £247.50 of Nectar evouchers on any one order.


Can I use more than one evoucher at a time?

You can use multiple Nectar evouchers per transaction/grocery delivery but each Nectar evoucher must be of a different value. For example, you cannot add two Nectar evouchers of £10 each to a transaction but you could add a Nectar evoucher for £12.50 and another for £7.50.


What happens if the link to add evouchers and spend Nectar points is not showing?

This link will only appear if you have a valid Necar card registerd to your Groceries Online account.


If my order is cancelled will my evoucher still be in place for my next order?

If your order is cancelled before the 11pm cut-off the evoucher will return to your voucher coupon wallet (in My Account) and can be used on your next shop. The evoucher is valid for a year from the point of issue.


I forgot to use my voucher / scan my Nectar card. Can I still get the points ?

In store
Good news! Points for general shopping can be added up to 14 days after the date on the receipt.  Simply present your receipt at the Customer Service Desk with your Nectar card.

If you forgot to use a voucher, provided you’ve met the criteria for the extra points, take the voucher and your receipt to the Customer Service Desk within 14 days from the date on the receipt and we’ll be happy to help.

Who can I contact about my account, points balance or lost/damaged/stolen card?

You can find out how to contact Nectar, join the scheme, report your card lost or stolen and view additional information at Nectar.com. From there you can also check your points balance, update your account details, opt in or out of receiving mailings and order replacement cards or key tags.

How long does it take for points to be added to my Nectar account?

Points collected on general shopping can take up to 48 hours to appear on your account. Bonus points and offers may take up to 28 days to be added.

You can also check your receipt for your points balance. If you're shopping in a store for the first time, your balance won't appear on any receipts until 24 hours after your first shop at that store.

Points issued by our Careline may take up to 72 hours to appear.
