Labelling change for eggs

Labelling change for eggs

What has happened?
Due to a potential risk that birds may contract Avian Influenza, the government advice was that all free- range birds should be kept inside temporarily and labelled as barn eggs. Now the risk has reduced our eggs will be free range and labelled as such from 9th May, following the housing order being lifted on 2nd May.

What does this mean and when will this come into affect?
Our eggs will be free range and labelled as such from 9th May, following the housing order being lifted on 2nd May.

Are we increasing the price?
The price of the eggs will stay the same.

Will this affect supply?
No, customers will still see the same amount of eggs available in store.

How do I know the eggs are safe?
Protecting bird health and welfare is our number one priority and we are following guidance from the government to continue the temporary housing order for all free-range birds to keep them safe.
