Nectar FAQ's for online purchases

In this article, you'll be able to find all our FAQ's about collecting and spending Nectar points online.

You can collect and spend Nectar points online, as well as in stores, as long as your Nectar card has been registered with Nectar and is linked to your Sainsbury’s Groceries Online account.

To link your Nectar card follow the below steps:
  1. Log in to your account Select My Account
  2. Go to My Cards
  3. Click on Add Nectar Card

You can find out how to contact Nectar, join the scheme, report your card lost or stolen and view additional information at www.nectar.com. From there you can also check your points balance, update your account details, opt in or out of receiving mailings and order replacement cards or key tags.
No, coupons can only be redeemed on the account they are issued to.
Firstly, you must link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury's online account, even if you are already setup to collect points in store. When you're placing an order on the Sainsbury's website, you'll need to follow the process through to the checkout stage: There'll be a section on the page called Coupons and Nectar points Click on the link Manage my coupons and convert your Nectar points. You are unable to spend points on LloydsPharmacy products, any items that are bought at the tobacco kiosk, or in any Sainsbury’s Local in partnership with Euro Garages. From time to time we may exclude other products but we'll always let you know. Nectar Vouchers can not be used to cover carrier bag or delivery charges.
You can earn points when shopping online. Just log into your online accounts and make sure your Nectar cards are linked. You can redeem Nectar points at the checkout stage. You are unable to collect Nectar points on savings stamps, spirits and liquers, car park tickets, vending machines, cashback, postage stamps, Sainsbury's gift vouchers/card, first stage baby milk products, National Lottery products and related, tobacco and related products, LloydsPharmacy products, mobile phone cards/vouchers, concessions or in any Sainsbury's Local in partnership with Euro Garages. From time to time we may exclude other products but we'll always let you know.
You will be able to spend to a maximum of £247.50 of Nectar vouchers on any one order. You can use multiple Nectar evouchers per transaction/grocery delivery but each Nectar evoucher must be of a different value. For example, you cannot add two Nectar evouchers of £10 each to a transaction but you could add a Nectar evoucher for £12.50 and another for £7.50. Promotional vouchers are limited to one per order.
Sorry you've experienced an error when using your Nectar vouchers/points. Check your Nectar card and Groceries account are linked so you can spend your points, you can see a guide of how to do this on our first tab.  If you're still experiencing issues converting your points call our team and we'll be happy to resolve this for you.
In store Points for general shopping can be added up to 14 days after the date on the receipt. Simply present your receipt at the Customer Service Desk with your Nectar card. If you forgot to use a voucher, provided you’ve met the criteria for the extra points, take the voucher and your receipt to the Customer Service Desk within 14 days from the date on the receipt and we’ll be happy to help. Points collected on general shopping can take up to 48 hours to appear on your account. You can also check your receipt for your points balance. If you're shopping in a store for the first time, your balance won't appear on any receipts until 24 hours after your first shop at that store. Points issued by our Careline may take up to 72 hours to appear. Bonus Points - depending on the promotion, bonus points may take up to 28 days.
