Nectar for online and in-store
With Nectar you can collect points on most of your purchases with us. Sit back and watch them mount up the more you shop. Save up enough points and you'll be able to treat yourself to something you'll enjoy!
You can collect and spend Nectar points with Sainsbury's online by linking your Nectar and Sainsbury's account, or in-store by scanning or swiping your Nectar card.
Points collected on general shopping can take up to 48 hours to appear on your account. Bonus points and offers may take up to 28 days to be added.
You can can check your receipt for your points balance if you spend more than £5 in-store. Please note, points earnt on a transaction under the value of £5 won't show on your receipt.
You can check your points balances by logging in to the Nectar app or on nectar.com. In your online account you can also see your recent transactions in the "Activity" section on the card menu. You can also check your points balance at the kiosk whilst in-store.
If you're shopping in a store for the first time, your balance won't appear on any receipts until 24 hours after your first shop at that store.

To add your Nectar card follow the below steps:
- Log in to your account Select My Account
- Go to My Cards
- Click on Add Nectar Card
To link your Nectar card follow the below steps:
- Log in to your account Select My Account
- Go to My Cards
- Go to link Nectar account
You'll now be able to get Nectar Prices and other Nectar benefits such as collecting, spending, and getting Sainsbury's points offers!

If you have two emails for Nectar and your Sainsbury's Groceries Online account and are experiencing any linking issues, we advise you to click 'forgot password'.
You will then be able to replace the email adress with an email for Nectar or Sainsbury's Groceries Online so both emails are the same and able to be linked.
You can collect points when shopping online or in-store. Just log into your online accounts and make sure your Nectar cards are linked. For in-store, simply swipe or scan your Nectar card.
You'll get 1 point per £1.(exclusions apply). And once you've registered, you'll be able to get loads of points on your offers.

Firstly, you must link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury's online account.
When you're placing an order on the Sainsbury's website, you'll need to follow the process through to the checkout stage:
On the final checkout screen, you'll see an option called Nectar, E-gift card and Coupons, follow the steps below:
- Click redeem coupon
- The first box will show how many Nectar points you have available, enter the amount you'd like to redeem
- Click spend points
- If you scroll down, you'll see your points have been converted to a coupon
- Select the relevant coupon and click apply
- Click continue to checkout
You'll see the coupon applied at checkout.

You will be able to spend to a maximum of £247.50 of Nectar vouchers on any one order. You can use multiple Nectar evouchers per transaction/grocery delivery but each Nectar evoucher must be of a different value. For example, you cannot add two Nectar evouchers of £10 each to a transaction but you could add a Nectar evoucher for £12.50 and another for £7.50. Promotional vouchers are limited to one per order.
Sorry you've experienced an error when using your Nectar vouchers/points. Check your Nectar card and Groceries account are linked so you can spend your points, you can see a guide of how to do this on our first tab. If you're still experiencing issues converting your points call our team and we'll be happy to resolve this for you.

From there you can also check your points balance, update your account details, opt in or out of receiving mailings and order replacement cards or key tags.
If your Nectar card is lost or damaged, you can request a replacement card online at Nectar. In the meantime, you can continue using the digital card, which lives in your Nectar app.

You can request a replacement card by going to 'Your account', scroll down to the 'Support' sections and select 'Replacement Nectar card'.Nectar will issue you a new card number which you'll need to re-link to anywhere your card was previously linked. No, coupons can only be redeemed on the account they are issued to.
Unable to collect
You are unable to collect Nectar points on savings stamps, spirits and liqueurs, car park tickets, vending machines, cashback, postage stamps, gift vouchers/cards, first stage baby milk products, National Lottery products and related, tobacco and related products, mobile phone cards/vouchers or concessions.
From time to time we may exclude other products but we'll always let you know.Unable to Spend
You are unable to spend points on any items that are bought at the tobacco kiosk, any gift vouchers/cards or paypoint payments.
From time to time we may exclude other products but we'll always let you know.Store: return back to store with your receipt and Nectar card within 14 days for the points to be added on.
Online: you'll need to add your Nectar card to your account and amend/checkout your order before 11pm the night before your delivery is due.
First, make sure you have registered your card online via nectar.com or the Nectar App. Then log in into your account and check your card activity in the Activity tab.

Have you had a recent cancellation or refunds for a Sainsbury's purchase?
Did you know, if an order is cancelled and refunded or any item(s) are returned to store after receiving your Nectar points, Nectar reserve the right to deduct equivalent amount of Nectar points from your account.Do you have another card holder on your Nectar account who could have spent points recently?
We recommend checking with any additional Nectar card holders on your account if they have made a recent purchase using Nectar points.If you've checked the above and still need some help, please get in touch with Nectar here.
Your receipt shows 1 point per pound points, plus bonus points from any paper coupons. Points collected on offers selected through the app or website will be shown in the app or on the website. The app will also show 1 point per £1 points and 1 point per 1 litre points, but with a day's delay.
Collect
You'll earn 1 point for every full litre of fuel purchased in our petrol stations. Just swipe or you're your card when paying.Spend
Points can only be spent when paying for fuel in the petrol kiosk and cannot be spent when paying for fuel at the pump.
