About Sainsbury’s eGift Card
eGift Cards can be used to purchase products in all Sainsbury's stores, including TU clothing and homeware, as well as in Sainsbury’s coffee shops. eGift Cards can also be redeemed online, see below further details around this. eGift Card you can use this to make full or part payment for your shopping. Any remaining balance unspent can be saved for a future shop as funds remain available on the card until the expiry.
eGift Cards can be redeemed from a smart phone device or printed and taken in to store. Product exclusions apply.
After each use In-Store any remaining balance on the eGift Card will be printed on a receipt. It is the recipient's responsibility to retain the receipt as evidence of their outstanding balance.
There is no limit to the number of eGift Cards that can be used per transaction, but eGift Cards cannot exceed a total of £250 per transaction.
If items are returned to store in accordance with our refund policy any refund due will be credited to your eGift Card.
eGift Cards can be redeemed at Sainsbury’s Online Groceries only. The maximum value that may be redeemed by a customer in one online grocery transaction is £50. Product exclusions apply.
Dependent on card balance, you may use the eGift Card to deduct a maximum £50 from your shopping total. Any remaining balance must be paid for using the payment card linked to your online groceries account.
To use the eGift Card online at Sainsburys.co.uk it must be converted to an online coupon.
If goods are out of stock on your booked grocery delivery date Sainsbury’s will offer a substitute unless you tell us not to. If, as a result of substitutes, the value of your order drops below the value of your converted eGift Card applied to that transaction then the converted eGift Card payment will be used for the full value of your basket (excluding delivery charge). The balance will be credited to your Sainsbury’s online grocery coupon wallet as a new coupon to be used against an online grocery shop at Sainsbury’s within 24 months of conversion.
If items are returned to store in accordance with our refund policy, any refund due will be credited to your Sainsbury’s online grocery coupon wallet.

Are there any restrictions on what I can purchase with my eGift Card?
Yes, you can’t use your eGift Card on certain items such as tobacco, lottery tickets and scratch cards. This may be why you are unable to redeem so please check your trolley. Please see the full list of exclusions above.
How much can I spend online with an eGift Card?
You can spend up to £50 in a single transaction. If your eGift Card is worth more than £50, you can only spend up to £50 on this shop and the remaining value can be used in your next shop.
I’ve converted my eGift Card into a coupon, can I convert it back to an eGift Card?
No, when your eGift Card has been converted into a coupon, it will remain as a coupon and can only be spent online.
Can I use a physical Gift Card online?
No, currently only eGift Cards can be spent online.
Why do I have to pay at least 1p on a debit or credit card for my order?
The cost of your order is only an estimate and we may need to charge a debit or credit bard depending on the final price.
Why can I not use two coupons of the same value?
This is a system restriction, which we hope to fix soon.
